We want you to be fully informed about what applies when you move out – both what you can expect from us and what we need from you as a tenant. By following our guidelines and checklists, the moving process will be smooth for everyone involved!

Contact us well in advance when you’re planning to move! We may even be able to offer you a new apartment if your housing needs change.

Cancel your lease at least three months before your planned move-out date. Keep in mind that the notice period begins from the date we receive your written notice of termination. The notice period is counted as three full calendar months.

Examples:

  • If you terminate your lease on January 31, the termination applies until your move-out date on May 1. The notice period covers February, March, and April.
  • If you terminate your lease on February 4, the termination applies until June 1, with a notice period of three full calendar months: March, April, and May.

Remember

  • The inspection schedule will be sent to the tenant about two weeks before the move-out date.
  • You are required to allow potential new tenants to view the apartment before you move out.
  • The apartment must be thoroughly cleaned, and the keys returned during the inspection.
  • Don’t forget to file a change of address with the Swedish Tax Agency and arrange mail forwarding through Svensk Adressändring (see links below).

Checklist for Moving-Out Cleaning

General Cleaning for Apartments:
Make sure to clean the following:

  • Light fixtures
  • Vents
  • Floors
  • Floor drains
  • Windows, including frames and sills
  • Baseboards and thresholds
  • Doors and frames
  • Radiators (including behind them)
  • Light switches and electrical outlets
  • Closets (inside, outside, and possibly on top)
  • Closet drawers

Bathroom and Toilet:

  • Inside and outside of the toilet, including the trap
  • Bathtub (including underneath)
  • Sink (including the underside)
  • Bathroom cabinet and mirror

Kitchen:

  • Stove (inside, outside, and behind)
  • Refrigerator and freezer – defrost and clean inside, outside, and on top
  • Grilles under cabinets
  • Cabinets (inside, outside, and on top)
  • Drawers (inside and outside)
  • Countertops (above and below)
  • Stove hood and spice rack

Laundry Room (if applicable):

  • Cabinets (inside, outside, and on top)
  • Washing machine
  • Drying cabinet or tumble dryer
  • Laundry bench with laundry baskets

Important Note:

If the cleaning does not meet approval during the inspection, a cleaning company will be hired to perform the additional cleaning.
The cost will be charged to the outgoing tenant.

Clearing out the apartment will be charged at 400 SEK/hour (additional costs for transport, landfill, and/or storage may apply).
