GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)

We prioritize your trust and aim to ensure you feel secure with how we handle your personal data, whether you are a tenant, applying for housing, a business partner, or seeking employment with us.

Fastighets AB Järnbäraren only processes personal data necessary to fulfill agreements related to housing rentals, property management, and the hiring of new staff.

Fastighets AB Järnbäraren retains and deletes data in accordance with applicable laws and an established plan.

GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is a data protection regulation that came into effect across the EU/EES on May 25, 2018, replacing the previous Swedish Personal Data Act (PUL).

While similar in many ways to the Personal Data Act, the GDPR strengthens the protection of your personal privacy and gives you greater control over your personal data.

Why We Store Personal Data

Fastighets AB Järnbäraren stores personal data across its various operations to provide you with the best possible service. Certain personal data must be stored to comply with regulatory requirements. Other processing of personal data, such as photos or videos, is voluntary.

For those browsing jarnbararen.se, there will be no changes — we do not store personal information when you simply visit the website. However, if you choose to follow certain pages and receive email notifications when information is updated, we will need to store your email address.

Your Rights Are Strengthened

It is important to us that your personal data is protected and securely stored. We have routines in place to determine how and why we store personal data. We also ensure that no personal data is stored longer than necessary.

You have the right to know what information Fastighets AB Järnbäraren has about you, and you have the right to update or delete your data. However, we cannot delete data that is required by law to be retained.

You also have the right to request copies of your personal data that we have stored in a structured format.

Feedback and Complaints

The data controller for Fastighets AB Järnbäraren is the governing boards that determine the purposes for processing personal data.

If you wish to access the information we have about you, request corrections, request data transfer, or request that we limit or delete your data, you can contact us. The easiest way to do this is by reaching out to our data protection officer at dataskyddsombud@gislaved.se.

If you have complaints about how we process your personal data, you have the right to contact the supervisory authority, the Swedish Data Protection Authority (Datainspektionen).

For more information, visit the Swedish Data Protection Authority’s website.

Right to Information

You have the right to be informed when your personal data is being processed. Information about the processing must be provided by the responsible authority both when your data is collected and when you request it. Additionally, specific information must be provided in certain situations, such as if there is a data breach (a personal data incident) at the responsible authority and there is a risk of identity theft or fraud.

Right to Erasure

You have the right to contact the municipality’s data protection officer (dataskyddsombud@gislaved.se) to request that your personal data be erased.

Your data must be erased in the following cases:

  • If the data is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected.
  • If the processing is based on your consent, which you have withdrawn.
  • If you object to the processing of your data within the framework of public interest or authority and there are no overriding legitimate grounds for processing.
  • If the municipality has processed your data unlawfully.

There are exceptions to the right to erasure, such as when retaining your data is necessary to safeguard other important rights (e.g., freedom of expression and information), comply with a legal obligation, perform a task in the public interest, or as part of authority.

Right to Rectification

You have the right to contact the municipality’s data protection officer to request the correction of inaccurate data. You are also entitled to supplement missing personal data if it is relevant to the purpose of the processing. The municipality is responsible for ensuring that the data it processes about you is correct and up to date.

Right to Restrict Processing

Under certain circumstances, you have the right to limit the processing of your personal data to storage only. For example, this may apply while Fastighets AB Järnbäraren investigates your right to erasure.

Right of Access

You have the right to receive confirmation from Fastighets AB Järnbäraren about how your personal data is being processed. You are entitled to access your personal data as well as the following information:

  • The purpose of processing your data.
  • The type of personal data being processed.
  • Who the recipients of your data are (especially if they are located outside the EU/EES).
  • How long the data will be processed.
  • Information about your rights.
  • Where the data was collected from.
  • Whether automated decision-making, including profiling, is used.

Fastighets AB Järnbäraren may charge a fee if you request more than one copy of your personal data.

Right to Data Portability

If your personal data is processed based on your consent or is necessary to fulfill a contract with you, and the data has been collected directly from you, you have the right to receive a copy of your personal data in a commonly used, machine-readable format.

Rights Related to Automated Decision-Making, Including Profiling

You have the right not to be subject to fully automated decisions, including profiling, that have legal or significant effects on you. This right does not apply if automated decision-making is necessary to fulfill a contract with you, is explicitly permitted by law, or if you have provided explicit consent.

Right to Object

If the municipality processes your data to perform a task in the public interest or as part of its authority, you have the right to object.

If you object to the processing, the authority may only continue if it can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that outweigh your interests, rights, and freedoms, or if the processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.

You must submit your objection in writing to the municipality’s data protection officer at dataskyddsombud@gislaved.se.

Right to Lodge a Complaint

If you believe that an authority is processing your data in violation of GDPR, you can file a complaint with the Swedish Data Protection Authority (Datainspektionen).

The authority is required to review all complaints and determine if an investigation should be initiated. They must notify you within three (3) months of receiving your complaint whether an investigation will be carried out. If you do not receive a response within this time frame, you can turn to a court to request a decision.
